Mikki Val was born in Flint, Michigan. She fell in love with acting at the age of 15 when she attended Weist Barron Commercial school in Detroit,Michigan. From that revelatory moment she decided to pursue acting as a career. After graduating high school Mikki came to Los Angeles and attended the prestigious Inner City Cultural Center for Performing Arts where she honed her acting, singing, and dancing skills for roles she would soon undertake. Carroll O’Connor gave Mikki her first speaking role on the hit series “In the Heat of the Night. Imbued with confidence, Mikki went on to capture high profile/leading roles in “Out All Night” with Patti Labelle,Vivica Fox, and Morris Chestnut, “Poetic Justice” with Janet Jackson and Tupac Shakur. She also had various roles to follow in television and film such as “House Party 3″, The Young and the Restless” and many many more. Mikki is also a talented composer and singer whose title song “Were you Thinking of Me” can be heard on the “Night Vision” soundtrack, a film starring and directed by Fred Williamson. She also received a Proclamation and Key to her city Flint, Michigan from Mayor Woodrow Stanley in 2001 making September 4 officially “Mikki Val Day”.
Mikki has had several projects released such as “Miracle Run” where she is starring , opposite award winning actress Mary Louise Parker and “High School Musical” star Zac Efron, “The Brooke Ellison Story” directed by the late Christopher Reeves, where she plays opposite Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, and John Slatterly, “Searching for David’s Heart”, where she plays opposite Danielle Panabaker. Mikki is also playing a role in the film “Just My Luck” starring Lindsay Lohan where she plays opposite Lindsay! Mikki moved to New Orleans, LA from Los Angeles, Ca in 2003, where several of the above mentioned titled films were shot. Mikki’s career started to take off again, but due to the history making tragedy of “Hurricane Katrina”, Mikki was forced to move back to Los Angeles and seemingly start all over again. But I can guarantee that you have not seen the last of Mikki Val, she is a fighter and a survivor and I have no doubt that her star is destined to continue shining far into the future!
